First International Children’s Festival of Young Artist Groups “Dream”

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the State of the United Arab Emirates on the 27th of November this year Dubai Community Theatre and Art Centre (DUCTAC) in Mall of The Emirates official opened the First International Children’s Festival of Young Artist Groups “Dream”. The initiative of this creative competition belongs to the recently established in Dubai Community of Russian Women, “Rossiyanka”.
Among the honored guests at the event were Consul General of France, South Africa, Korea, Russia, Sri Lanka and other countries, the head of the Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disabilities “Rashid”, representatives of local and foreign public media. The evening was opened by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and Northern Emirates Mr. Sergey Krasnogor, he noted the special importance of this festival, which is held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the UAE and the 40th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries. According to him, because of its humanitarian nature, such actions help to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between peoples.
Festival organizer and president of the Association of Russian Women “Rossiyanka” Mrs. Tatiana Al Aroud congratulated those present on the momentous date in the history of the UAE and the Russian-United Arab Emirates relations, stressed that today’s children’s festival – the first major event that the” Rossiyanka” organized. She noted that one of the main goals – the creation of better conditions for children’s education and development. By organizing this festival – said Mrs. Tatiana Al Aroud – we would like not only find the new talent, but also pay attention to the fact that such events contribute to the mutual cultural enrichment, learning and sharing of cultural traditions, which is especially important in the UAE where in the world and friendship is inhabited by a huge number of nations and nationalities.
The festival will run from November 27 to December 1 in Dubai Community Theatre and Art Centre (DUCTAC) in Mall of The Emirates. It is attended by 260 children of almost all nationalities living in the United Arab Emirates, at the age of 5 to 17 years old.

Chairman of the Jury: Mr. Tyler Smith, coordinator of the Middle East. He graduated from Trinity College London; Trinity Guildhall; Music,Performing and Creative Arts in Rockschool, UK.

The festival takes place in three categories: instrumental ensemble (which includes piano duets, wind ensembles, bands and orchestra of folk instruments), vocal ensemble (which includes duets, trios, chorus, etc.) and children’s dance groups (ballet, folk dance, pop dancing).
