Rossiyanka participates in Al Noor Annual Ladies’ Luncheon

Every country and every culture has its own charity traditions conditioned by history, religion and customs. The level of participation of citizens in charity activities says much about the development of civil society and how people are willing and able to make a personal contribution to the solution of social problems both in their own countries and internationally. Encouraging philanthropy, participation in charity fundraising events and assistance to centres for children with disabilities in the UAE has always been a part of Rossiyanka’s social activity. Keeping this tradition the members of the Community of Russian Women “Rossiyanka” headed by the president Tatiana Al Aroud participated in Al Noor Annual Ladies’ Luncheon organized by Al Noor Training Centre for children with special needs. The purpose of the event was to raise funds to help handicapped children of Al Noor Training Centre.

The luncheon that took place in Hilton Dubai Jumeirah on January 20, 2013 was attended by the women from local community sharing the common goal of supporting children with disabilities. The ladies’ annual exclusive event aimed at empowering women to be actively involved in supporting the cause of people with special needs.

The programme of the luncheon included silent and live auctions of Al Noor students’ paintings and a fantastic door raffle prizes. To demonstrate the talents of children with disabilities Smiles n’ Stuff put on sale exclusive range of handmade products made by Al Noor‘s students.  Smiles n’ Stuff is the first retail shop in GCC to exclusively sell gift items made by individuals with special needs. Al Noor’s Bakery treated the guests with delicious cake pops, muffins, and special valentine cookies.

All money raised from the charity Ladies’ Luncheon will go towards supporting children of Al Noor Training Centre. The entertaining event was a success since it raised more awareness and invited the local community to reach out children with special needs by helping them get the support they need to have a promising future.

For two years the Community of Russian Women “Rossiyanka” remains a good friend of Al Noor Training Centre and is proud to count itself amongst its long-term supporters.  “It is really very important to hold charity events like this luncheon,” says Tatiana Al Aroud, “as they help to raise funds and draw public attention to the problems of handicapped children. A public charity event is also a great opportunity to meet new people, exchange experiences and knowledge, and to jointly contribute to the development and promotion of charitable activities.”

From our side, we would like to cordially thank the Rossiyanka’s women for their support and indifferent attitude to the problems of children with disabilities from Al Noor Training Centre.
